Like father, like son

Like father, like son! That`s how young Nicky Clark must be feeling at the moment.

He`s currently our leading marksman with six goals, but still after more following that recent strike against Hibs

And he adds, "It`s the first time I`ve scored against a Premier League side and it`s a great feeling. Even moreso with my dad`s background and because it was against Hibs.

His father of course was with Hearts when Nicky was born so football was always a big subject in the Clark household.

Added Nicky, "It`s great working with my dad but there`s no favouritism, I get treated just the same us my team-mates.

"We were together at Aberdeen" added the 21 year old. "So it`s nothing new".

Dad, Sandy, is naturally proud of his son`s achievement but treats Nicky just the same as the other players at Palmerston.

But he adds, "Perhaps I`m even more critical of Nicky but I`m very pleased at how he`s playing just now!

Sandy himself spent close on two seasons with Rangers as a player himself and netted 22 goals for the Ibrox side in just over 60 appearances.

Nicky stays in Bathgate and joined Queens last season following spells with Aberdeen and Peterhead.

He states "We want to win the league this season and get back up into the First Division again.

"Palmerston is a nice ground and the park`s in great condition just now.

"We`re now `full-time` and with that advantage we`re hoping to get promotion".

Although Nicky is our top scorer he was quick to praise young Gavin Reilly who grabbed a `hat-trick` against Arbroath last Saturday.

And adds, "We`ve a lot of young talent in the ranks now and that can only be good.

"Naturally we`re all looking forward to our visit to Ibrox on Tuesday night and it will be a big occasion for us all."
