McIntyre: We didnt deserve that

Jim McIntyre feels harshly treated following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Falkirk.

The Queens gaffer feels that when the Doonhamers have faced the best there is in the league this year, they have failed to get what they deserved.

But McIntyre insists he has nothing but praise for his players as they tried their best to inject some life in to a dull game.

He said: “It’s a result I don’t think we deserved and we’ve had a few of them against the top three sides.

“I think we’ve done enough to get something from the game.

“The first half was very flat and I don’t think either team produced much football.

“The wind made things difficult, the pitch seemed to dry out an awful lot and there wasn’t a great deal of football on show.

“I thought we started the half a little better and then Falkirk came in to it and they scored a good goal which gives them a lift.

“We were really unfortunate in front of goal but they’re throwing everything at it to try and stop us scoring.

“We never got the goal that we deserved and we’ve had a few good opportunities.

“We were really unfortunate in front of goal but they’re throwing everything at it to try and stop us scoring.

“We had the one which hit off the post and came back out and there was a block on the line. I think it just wasn’t to be our day.

“The players have been brilliant, we’ve been on a great run and most of our performances have been really good.

“Today it wasn’t but that hasn’t happened often, especially in the last four months but we know now we have to pick it back up and we can do that on Tuesday.”

Queens travel to Stark’s Park to take on Raith Rovers on Tuesday in a crucial clash to secure fourth place and a spot in the play-offs.
