The Week Ahead

It's another busy week ahead, here's a run through of events taking place this week.

MONDAY 27th FEBRUARY

Walking Football continues between 10 and 11am at The Queen of the South Arena – the weekly opportunity for the over 50’s to play football. Cost - £3.00.

Between 5 – 6pm at the Queen of the South Football Academy it’s Pound to Play for youngsters to have a kick about under the supervision of our Community coaches. PLEASE NOTE THE LATER START for this at King George V.

Speedy Byers will be holding his goal-keeping coaching sessions for 10 – 16 year olds, girls and boys at Palmerston.  These are structured sessions run by qualified SFA Coaches.  The first session which costs £2.50 takes place for an hour from 5.15pm with the second session between half past 6 and 8 for £3.50.  Limited places are available for more information contact Speedy on 07825 741 259.

 

TUESDAY – 28th FEBRUARY

In the afternoon the Community team have their Why Try Programme a resilience education curriculum to help increase kids chances of academic success with the use of simple hands-on solutions.

It’s training night for the youth teams and the Queen of the South Ladies. The Kids training session takes place at Palmerston from half past five. While the Ladies train for an hour at KGV from six o’clock.

MATCH DAY – for the Under 20s who are at home to STRANRAER.  Kick off 7.30pm.

 

WEDNESDAY – 1st March

The Community team have a school visit to Collin, they’ll be visiting between 11am and 12 noon.

Wednesday clubs for pre and primary school kids. Pre-school club starts at half past three until quarter past four for just £3.50. The club then opens for those at Primary school from four until half past five for just £5.00.

Today is the deadline for anyone wishing to add anything to the agenda for the forthcoming meeting that the Supporters Liaison Officer will be holding at Palmerston on Monday evening.  If you have anything you’d like added please email Christine [email protected]

 

THURSDAY – 2nd March

The Community team have two school visits. With the school visits in blocks they’ll be back at Ae Primary School from 10am for an hour before heading to Heathhall Primary in the afternoon.

In between school visits there will be a Common Thread School coaching session in the Arena for an hour at half past 11.

In the evening the Football Fans in Training programme continues from half past six. Under the guidance of professionals, supporters meet in the Palmerston Lounge where they’ll be given advice on how to maintain a healthy diet before they head over to the gym at the KGV.

It’s the second training night for the Youth teams and Ladies. From 1730 – 1930 the youth sides will train at The Arena and KGV, while the Ladies are at KGV from half past six for an hour and a half as they prepare for their game on the 5th of March when they take on Dumbarton United at Palmerston.

 

FRIDAY - 3rd March

The Community team are visiting Duncow Primary School between 9 -10.30 before they hold the Girls Club between four and five for just £4.

 

SATURDAY – 4th March

MATCH DAY!!!

It’s a massive game for the first team as they host promotion play off rivals FALKIRK in the Championship. Don’t forget that this game has FREE admission for under 15 year olds. Gary Naysmith and the Players really appreciate the backing from the supporters, so get yourselves along, boost the crowd and let’s make some noise!

The match will be sponsored by Scania with Professional Tax Solutions as Silver ball sponsors.

In the build-up to the game, the Community team will be holding their Saturday Club for kids. For just £10, from half past 12 onwards, some of the under 20s squad will coach them in the Arena before getting them something to eat. They’ll then take them to the ground and supervise them throughout the game.

 

SUNDAY – 5th March

MATCH DAY

The U13s, U15s, U17 and ladies sides are all in action today.  The youth sides are all up at Kinross to play Inverness Caledonian Thistle while the ladies open their league campaign at home to Dumbarton United.

 

Don’t forget the Club shop within the Arena and the Arena café are open throughout the week.

The facilities at the Arena and the KGV are also available to book.
