Physio Appointed

The club are delighted to announce the appointment of Ryan Wilkie.

Physio, Ryan joins manager Gary Naysmith's backroom staff from Partick Thistle to replace Ross Goodwin who has left to take up a position with Kilmarnock Football Club.

The highly skilled and motivated physio who gained a Masters with Merit at Glasgow Caledonian University has a vast amount of experience in the football environment.  Before joining Partick Thistle in 2015 where he has been working with the development squad as well as assisting with the first team he worked with Cowdenbeath and Clydebank Juniors. He has also gained experience as a sports massage therapist at Hamilton Accies as well as working with Celtic Academy as a coach.

Ryan is also a former professional footballer who played for Celtic, Liverpool, Scotland Youth side, Gretna and Clyde.  In 2006 he had to turn down the chance to move to MLS Houston Dynamo after suffering injury.

Following his appointment, Ryan said "I have had a great time at Partick and learned a great deal but I'm really looking forward to a new challenge with Queens.  It seems a really friendly club and I can't wait to get started"

Out going Physio, Ross Goodwin added "I would like to thank everyone at the club for their support over the past few years.  It has been an enjoyable few seasons and I've had the privilege of working alongside some great boys and backroom staff.  I have chosen to leave the club to join Kilmarnock as I feel this is a good opportunity to progress my career and couldn't turn down the chance to return to my former club. I would like to wish everyone at Queens all the best for the new season and I firmly believe, in Gary and Dougie, you have an excellent management team and I'm sure that success won't be far away."

Ryan will take up his position once he ties things up at Firhill.
