Fraser Aird

Jan 31 2019 12:00

As the January transfer window draws to a close, Manager Gary Naysmith has today added Fraser Aird on loan from Dundee United until the end of the season. The 23 year old Canadian who has previously played for Rangers, Falkirk and Dunfermline in Scotland as well as Vancouver Whitecaps in his homeland has also been capped for his country.

Fraser is the latest addition at Palmerston as the boss tweaks the squad for our push towards a top four finish.

Gary added “I am delighted and also a little surprised that we have managed to bring Fraser to the club. With Dundee United changing their manager recently and Robbie wanting to bring in his own players, Fraser has found himself on the outside looking in in recent weeks and once we thought we had a chance of getting him we moved quickly to add him to the squad.

He is only 23 and is a current Canadian international, who was in outstanding form for Dundee United earlier in the season. He has three goals and twelve assists from 19 games this season and is someone who will add another dimension to our attacking threat. Fraser is comfortable playing on either wing. He has a lot of experience for someone his age having played over 150 games for Rangers, Vancouver, Dunfermline, Falkirk and Dundee United as well as having eight caps for Canada.

When the board spoke to me on Tuesday evening before the game to tell me that we could bring Fraser to the club, it was a perfect way to start what turned out to be a perfect evening. Again I must thank the Board for their backing this window in allowing me to bring Fraser, Iain, Nicky and Barry to the club. I believe we have added quality and depth to the squad and now we have real competition for places once everyone is fit”.

Welcome to Palmerston Fraser.
