Match Preview v Inverness CT (A) - 15th Jan

After two home games we are back on the road tomorrow with a trip to the Highlands to face Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The hosts have been at the top end of the table throughout the campaign and currently sit second in the cinch Championship with 36 points from their 20 games. They have the upper hand in our previous meetings this season, winning both games 2 – 1.

At Inverness in September Sean Welsh’s free kick after 11 minutes opened the scoring with a stunning finish from Lee Connelly pulling us level midway through the second half, only for Michael Gardyne to secure the win with a strike nine minutes from time.

In the last game at Palmerston in November a Billy McKay double had the Jags ahead before Lee pulled one back, but it wasn’t enough, and the three points headed north.

Looking ahead to the game tomorrow Manager Allan Johnston said “Last week against Kilmarnock we got off to a slow start, but we changed the shape and I felt that gave us a foothold in the game. However, we conceded another poor goal just before half time and although we continued to battle and kept ourselves in the game, for the second week in a row we were on the wrong end of a poor penalty decision and that killed it. You can’t do anything about decisions like that, but we can defend better, and we can be more of a goal-threat.

We are in the bottom two and we are all playing for our futures so as we head to Inverness, we all need to take responsibility and start picking up the points that we need”.

With the Government crowd restrictions still in place, no away fans will be allowed into the game.

The hosts are offering a stream of the match via their website https://ictfc.tv/ for £15.00.  Should you have any issues you can email their support team at [email protected]
