Match Preview v Kilmarnock (A) -19th March

We are back on the road tomorrow for our cinch Championship match as we head to league leaders Kilmarnock. The Rugby Park side sit two points clear at the top of the table after last weekend’s games.

our final meeting of this season with the hosts having won all three previous games so far this campaign. They were the visitors for our first home game of the season back in August when Steven Naismith scored a stoppage time goal to give them a one – nil victory. While on our last visit to Rugby Park we suffered a 4- 0 defeat. Oli Shaw’s double had them two up within the hour before Callum Hendry added a third at the end of regulation time with Chris Burke rounding off the scoring in stoppage time.

We again met in January at Palmerston, a 2 – 0 win on the day thanks to goals from Chris Stokes and a Oli Shaw (from the penalty spot) earning Derek McInnes a victory for his first game in charge.

It’s Wullie Gibson in charge for us this time around and as he makes a return to one of his former clubs he said “Last week’s game at home to Raith wasn’t the standard that I am looking for. We never got going and the game was flat. So we need a reaction this week to lift us again.

We’ve got to dust ourselves down and look forward to what will be another huge test for us. We lost heavily the last time up there but on the day its eleven against eleven and we will go there and hopefully get a positive result”.
