The latest addition to the squad is a Michael Hewitt. The defender who joins from Hamilton Accies has penned a one-year deal, subject to SFA approval of the transfer.

Starting his career at Rangers, the 23-year-old then signed for Ayr United from where he played five games under Peter Murphy at Annan after joining on loan. His time was cut short by the covid pandemic and he returned to Somerset Park. He also had a loan spell at Peterhead before making the switch to New Douglas Park last season.

The Gaffer added “Michael stands at over 6 foot so gives us a presence. He can also play in midfield, so we’ve signed a versatile player which is what we need. We know him well having worked with him before and he knows how we like to play”.
