Goal-keeper Agrees Deal

May 25 2017 12:43

Having secured the services of defender Callum Fordyce earlier this week, Queens have today agreed a deal to bring goal-keeper Alan Martin to the club.  The 28 year old who spent last season at Championship rivals Dumbarton will join on a two year contract.

Martin who has also played south of the border and for Scotland at Under 21 level during his career won a number of awards last season including the Players Player of the Year.

Queens boss Gary Naysmith said "Alan had a very impressive season last year and was arguably one of the most consistent goal-keepers in the Championship. While it was relatively straight forward and easy to conclude the deal to bring Callum to the club, we had to work really hard to get this one over the line.  Other teams in Scotland as well as clubs in England were interested in securing his services, so I'm delighted the hard work has paid off and he sees his future with Queen of the South".
