A familiar face is making a return to Palmerston as Dominic Thomas has today agreed to join us on loan until the end of the season.  Dom spent the latter part of last season with us in Dumfries, where he made 17 appearances and scored three goals including a memorable strike against Dundee United at Tannadice.  He returned to Motherwell but requested a transfer during the summer and left to join Kilmarnock on a three year deal.

Pairing up with Dom again, Queens boss Gary Naysmith said “I am delighted to bring Dominic back to the club for a second spell. He made a fantastic impact when he joined us last season and hopefully he will provide us with a similar contribution this time around. As well as being a real fans favourite, he was also a very popular player within the changing room and I am sure he will be able to help us in our push to reach the play offs. He was very keen to rejoin us once we had shown an interest in bringing him to the club and I am very happy that we were able to conclude a deal that suited all parties. He will go straight into the squad on Saturday for the match against St Mirren”.

Meanwhile, midfielder Andy Stirling has returned to Dumbarton after agreeing to join them on loan for the rest of the season.  Gary added “Andrew came to see me a few weeks ago and asked if he could go on loan to enable him to play regular first team football on a Saturday. I told him that I was okay with this as long as I could find a replacement and that it was a deal that benefited everyone. We have since come to such an agreement with Dumbarton and hopefully Andrew can go there and play regularly football".

As part of the deal with Dumbarton, Andy will not be allowed to play against us when we travel there in March.

One other piece of transfer news is that youngster Ewan Gourlay has joined Lowland League side Dalbeattie Star on a development loan.
