We can confirm this morning that Kevin Holt has left Queen of the South by mutual consent to take up an offer of a contract in Cyprus again. Kevin is travelling to Cyprus today to complete the paperwork ahead of the Cypriot transfer window closing in the next few days.
Chairman Billy Hewitson said, "This has all happened very quickly but following discussions with the player and management it was agreed that we would allow Kevin to leave. He has been given a very good opportunity to return to Cyprus and was keen to take it up".
'Holty' himself said, "I have some mixed emotions about leaving as a local player and Queens fan but at this time in my career and with the future of the game in this country so uncertain, I have to do what's best for my family. I think it's the right move for all of us. Cypriot football has already restarted and they are allowed crowds. My family will be coming out to join me as soon as I get settled. I'll be back to visit Palmerston when I'm back in Scotland and hope to return again as a player in the future."
Whilst disappointed to lose him, we wish him all the best at his new club.
