We are delighted to announce the signing of Harry Cochrane. The 20 year old midfielder joins us on a two year deal after turning down a contract extension offer from Heart of Midlothian.
Harry started as a youth with Rangers before moving to Gorgie and the Hearts Academy in 2014. His ability saw him progress to their senior set up, signing his first professional contract in 2017. During his seven years at Tynecastle he was linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus. After loan spells at Dunfermline and Montrose he has taken the decision to end his seven year association with the Edinburgh club and turn down a new deal in a bid to pursue regular first team football.
Highly rated, he has played for Scotland at Under 14, Under 15, Under 16, Under 17 and Under 19 levels.
Due to his age, an undisclosed compensation agreement has been reached with Hearts.
Manager Allan Johnston said “We are delighted to have been able to bring Harry to the club. He is a lively and enthusiastic youngster who has a high profile for someone of his age. He has been training with us for a few weeks now and is just desperate to play football. He has been working hard on building up his physique so will only get stronger. I think he will be a signing that will excite the fans so I’m pleased all parties have been able to reach an agreement and he can get on with being part of the squad”.
TV interview with Harry will be posted in due course.
He has been allocated squad number 6.
