Joining the squad for the rest of the season is 17-year-old Max Johnston. The defender who is the son of Manager, Allan arrives on loan from Motherwell.
He joined the Fir Park side as a 12-year-old and has progressed from the youth academy to the first team squad. Signing a professional contract last summer, he featured as a 16-year-old in their pre-season friendlies and making his first team debut earlier this year. His performances attracted interest from a couple of Premier League clubs down south in the summer.
AJ added “He has done well at Motherwell and has been involved with the first team, but in order to progress his career, they feel it is the right time for him to go out to try to gain more first team experience. He is good going forward so that gives us other options and it gives us competition in the wider areas either at full back or in midfield. So, he will be coming here to challenge for a first team place”.
Max who last week was with the Scotland under 19 side goes into the squad for our SPFL Trust Trophy cup tie against Broomhill on Sunday.
He has been allocated squad number 22.
