After a win over Arbroath last weekend, there was one change to the starting eleven to face Stenhousemuir with Oscar MacIntyre replacing Benji Luissint who dropped to the bench.
Fifteen minutes in, the best chance of the game so far came when Kai Kennedy on the left crossed into the box and Matty Douglas got his head on it, it was a great effort but well handled by Darren Jamieson.
Six minutes later, Kennedy provided a similar delivery, this time it was Kieran McKechnie who was in the centre of goal, but he headed straight into the arms of the keeper.
Queens were in control of the game and Jamieson was again called into action when he pushed Brennan Dickensons shot out for a corner. Lewis ODonnell played in the set-piece, but Reece Lyon fired over a right foot shot.
Former Queens defender Gregor Buchanan was booked for a challenge on Kennedy and when the resulting free kick was played short into the path of the tricky winger, Jamieson saved his low shot.
The visitors were doing all the pressing and on the half hour mark, ODonnell did well to control the ball to set up Mickey Hewitt, but he got in a tangle and couldnt get a proper shot on goal.
The newly promoted side looked to hit on the counter and as Blair Alston found himself inside the six-yard box he tried to lift it over Ross Stewart into the top corner, it wasnt far away but did go wide of the target.
It was the home side who also had the next chance, but Stewart easily collected Ross Taylors free kick.
Queens quickly restored the upper hand and in the closing stages of the first half, Hewitt played the ball back across to McKechnie in front of goal, he looked odds on to score but the ball was turned out for a corner.
And with the final chance before the break, Douglas throw in was knocked down by Leighton McIntosh, the ball fell for Hewitt, but the keeper snatched it before he could get enough on it.
HALF TIME: Stenhousemuir 0 Queens 0
Within three minutes of the restart, Queens were forced into a change when Dickenson pulled up with a hamstring problem. He was replaced by Harry Cochrane who returned after suspension.
Stennie were more in the game this half and Taylor hit a right foot curling shot just wide.
At the other end, McKechnie and Cochrane combined well to play in Kennedy, but the keeper got down to save his low effort. Within a minute, the same player hit a right foot free-kick from 19-yards just the wrong side of the post.
Queens werent as dominant after the break but still had chances, ODonnell played the ball in for Douglas and as he headed it onto McIntosh, the strikers header was wide of the target.
Kennedy then did well when he got the break of the ball on the by-line and cut it back for McKechnie, but his effort was poor. In the final ten minutes, substitute Pharrell Willis caused a few problems for the hosts, he got on the end of Hewitts delivery, but his shot was blocked for a corner. As ODonnell played it in, Kennedy was at the edge of the box, but his attempt was also cleared.
Queens continued to look for that opener and Lyon tried an overhead kick, but it never caused a problem.
On the ninety minutes Douglas and James Berry clashed heads as the Queens defender put his body on the line to make sure the home side didnt find the net and in added on time, Willis made the break for Queens but as he tried to make space for himself, his low effort at the near post hit the side netting.
