Benji's Back!

Next up for us today is the return of Benjamin Luissint to Queens colours.

Peter Murphy said, "Benji as we all know him, has gone away from Queen of the South and honed his skills over a number of seasons. Having worked with Benji he has a drive to succeed and takes on board everything that is on offer. Benji has room to develop and will be a top player for Queen of the South. Benji has popped up with some important goals over the last couple of seasons and is not phased at the demands we place on him. We are looking forward to seeing how he progresses and pushes Queen of the South forward." Benji joins us on a two year deal.

A Guadeloupe native, Benjamin Luissint first joined Queen of the South in the summer of 2019 on a recommendation via former goalkeeper Alan Martin. He joined on an amateur basis whilst training with Eddie Warwick's Reserves group and quickly became a regular at that level, had a successful loan at Gretna and eventually earned himself a seat on the first team bench a couple of times. However, his fledgling career in Scotland fell victim to the Covid pandemic and he left the club during the period when football was closed down. Returning to Scotland in the post-Covid era, Benji had a brief spell at Brechni City before signing for Gretna again. He joined Annan Athletic in the summer of 2022 and working under the present management team he quickly became a regular and a scorer of crucial goals for Annan, including most recently the goal that secured their survival in League 1 last season.

We're delighted to welcome him back to Palmerston.
