2022 SW League Cup Final - Match Report

Queen of the South Ladies and Girls Football Club are delighted to announce the winning of the SW League Cup by their Under 16s team on Sunday 19th June. The cup final was played against Drumsagard Football Academy at Townhead Park, Cumnock.

This is the first time in the club’s history that a league cup has been won at any age group. A huge congratulations to the players and coaches on an amazing achievement.

The girls raced to an early half time lead with a fabulous hat trick from Georgia and goals from Eve and Macey.

Drumsagard came out strongly in the first 20 minutes of the second half pulling a goal back , but it was this excellent young Queens team that responded with further goals from Georgia (2) Stephanie and Lacey to lift the trophy with a 9 - 1 victory.

The under 16’s squad are currently top of the South West Erin Cuthbert League and are in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup as they enter a short summer break.

Congratulations to the girls and a special thanks to all our parents and supporters who made the journey, and continue to support all aspects of the team’s development.
