Manager Peter Murphy has made his first signings since taking the helm. The Gaffer has secured the services of Colin McMenamin, Alan Casey and Jon Connolly as the trio make the switch from neighbours Annan to join Peter as his coaching staff.
Forty-three year old former Queens striker, Colin returns to Palmerston as Assistant Manager. During his 20 year playing career, he spent the 2010/11 season in blue and white. Following a spell as Manager at Stenhousemuir he has spent the past three years as assistant at Galabank.
Alan joins as first team coach, while former Motherwell goalkeeper, Jon takes on the position of goalkeeping coach.
Peter said “I am delighted to have Colin, Alan and Jon join us at the club. We have worked closely over the past few years, so have a real understanding of each other’s methods and work well together. When I took on the Manager’s job it was key for us to have a coaching team that know how to implement our style, so I’m pleased we’ve been able to get them here as we look to take the club to the next level”.
Colin, Alan and Jon all added, “We are looking forward to getting started. It’s great to have the opportunity to continue working with the gaffer, especially at a full time club. We achieved a lot as a team at Annan and thank everyone down there for our time at the club but our focus is now on getting to work and being able to spend more focussed time working with players on a daily basis to bring success to Queens”.
