Match Preview v Stenhousemuir - 14th Dec 24

Dec 13 2024 12:23

We are back at Palmerston tomorrow for the first time since the start of November. This weekend we welcome former manager Gary Naysmith’s Stenhousemuir who currently sit top of league one.

The Warriors won promotion last season and have been on a fantastic run of form. We last meet in September when we fought out a goal-less draw in our only meeting so far this campaign.

Ahead of the match tomorrow, Manager Peter Murphy said “Last Saturday at Gayfield, the conditions were terrible, but we need to deal with that, and it was more the manner in which we lost the game that frustrated us. We got ourselves ahead with a great strike from Matty Douglas but then conceded two really bad goals by not doing the basics properly.

We are approaching the halfway point in the season and after a good first quarter the second hasn’t been good enough and that’s down to our away form. If we look back at the points, we have dropped we should be at least four or five points better off but that’s not the case and we need to address that quickly.

This weekend we face a Stenhousemuir side who are on a great run and sit top of the table. They’re unbeaten in five and have scored 14 goals in those games which shows what a bit of consistency and confidence can do.

They deserve a lot of credit and respect but it’s about us. We need to continue our home form which has been good so far and kick start a run of our own.

Your backing over the past few games has been tremendous and very much appreciated. Stick with us and get behind the team as there is still a long way to go.”

We would like to remind supporters that letting off smoke devices is a criminal offence, and anyone found doing so will be referred to Police Scotland. Not only is it against the law, it is also extremely dangerous and a health hazard to other spectators. All bags will be searched and spectators presenting themselves for entry may also be subject to search. Spectators who refuse to be searched by stewards will be denied entry to the ground.

Palmerston Park is a non-smoking venue; this includes e cigarettes and other such devices. Stewards are empowered to eject spectators who disobey these rules. No persons will be admitted to the ground who are deemed to be under the influence of alcohol.

The club shop located in the Arena will be open until kick off where you can purchase our club merchandise. With this being our last home game before Christmas it is a good chance to stock up on the last minute gifts or stocking fillers.  Half-time draw tickets and match day programmes will also be on sale.

Tomorrow’s match kicks off at 3 pm.
