David McKellar attended Girvan’s match against promotion chasing Ardeer Thistle, to cast his eye over young goalkeeper Mark Thomson. David said “Although Girvan lost one –nil, it was a closely contested match and Mark played well. He made a few good saves, and was commanding of his penalty area.”

Elsewhere, Cumbernauld Colts manager, John Doyle continues to be impressed with Ben Johnstone and Euan Ross. The boss was full of praise for the two who both contributed well in Colts, Friday night victory over Broxburn, with Euan scoring a well taken goal in the 40th minute.

And pleasingly Harry McLindon started for Linlithgow Rose against Gretna. Although the match ended goal-less, Harry did well without having any real scoring opportunities.

In the youth leagues, the Under 16’s game was called off and they will return to action next Sunday, with a home game against Edinburgh City.

Meanwhile, the Under 18s went down 3-1 at home to Airdrie in the CAS Advanced Youth U18 league. They also have a game scheduled next Sunday, when they are due to travel to the Poltonhall Recreation Ground to take on Bonnyrigg Rose.
