Fond farewell to Ryan

Ryan Conroy says he`s sorry he`ll not get the chance to say a proper farewell to the Queens` fans.

The postponement of the Dundee match this morning meant that his contract (which expires on 31st December) is set to run out. So it will now be a case of `adios amigos` on the club Website.

Says Ryan himself, "I must say that I`ve really enjoyed those few months I`ve spent with Queen of the South. They`re a good club and treat their players well. The fans have also been most supportive and I really appreciate that too.

"I got on well with the manager, Kenny Brannigan, and there was also a good team spirit among all the players.

"I would have liked to have stayed longer but the terms of the loan deal didn`t allow that.

"I was sorry I missed out on those last three games as they were all at home and, in particular, the opportunity to play in the Alba Cup Final. That was hard to take!

"I`ve really enjoyed my spell at Palmerston and wish the club `all the best` for the future."

Ryan netted three goals in his brief spell down here, but they were all spectacular strikes--against Ross County (on his debut) and against Raith Rovers and Cowdenbeath.

We wish him well in years to come and hope he`ll feature regularly in the Celtic first team squad.
