Are You Heir to Some Queen of the South Shares?

Mar 27 2011 11:45

Just an update to this. We`ve had some decent success so far with around about a dozen or so deceased shareholders now having had heirs come forward. That`s still only around 10% of the number we need to find though. If anyone hasn`t had a chance to check the list yet please do so and let us know if you can help. Here`s the original announcement again:

The club would like assistance to track down a number of shareholders with whom we have lost touch over the years.

The club was incorporated in 1922 and, perhaps inevitably in the near century since then, contact has been lost with many shareholders who have either moved away without providing a forwarding address or died without anyone making a claim to be the heir to the shares. At this point in time there are more than 100 shareholders with whom contact has been lost over the years and approximately 13,000 shares that as a result are in limbo. Now we`d like your help to provide information that might let us track down some of these rightful owners. It won`t necessarily be easy as the vast majority of them pre-date the Second World War but hopefully a number will still have family who remain Queens fans and might recognise the details.

Over the past several weeks extensive research on the old share registers spanning the last 89 years has taken place to glean what information could be found. The attached download contains a list of names, occupations (where available) and last known addresses of those shareholders whose status is presently listed as “Deceased” or “Address Unknown”. If you think you may be heir to these people or can help with any further information on any of them please e-mail on [email protected]
