The Manager made one change to the starting eleven to face Peterhead as Lee Connelly dropped to the bench with Connor Murray making a return for kick off.
With three wins from three over the visitors already, expectations were high for another win to extend the unbeaten run, but the Blue Toon were not just in town to make up the numbers and had the first real attempt on goal. Winning a free kick, they switched play to the other side of the field and Jordon Browns header had to be tipped over the bar by Kevin Dabrowski. Jack Wilkie floated in the resulting corner for Josh Oyinsan whose diving header was cleared.
Queens first attempt on goal came from Murray after 18 minutes but his low right foot shot was wide of the upright. Two minutes later, Ruari Paton got in on the action with a free kick from 20 yards, but as he aimed for the bottom corner, Stuart McKenzie got down low to push it away.
In a good move started by Iain Wilson, Queens produced a number of passes that finished with Cammy Logan crossing from the right but neither Murray nor Paton could get on the end of it.
Midway through the first half, Wilson opened up a chance but did not get the shot away and as the ball fell to Paton his effort was off target.
Peterhead were still a threat and with half an hour gone, Kieran Shanks delivered the ball to the front post for Jordan Brown but thankfully for Queens, he fluffed his shot.
Seven minutes before the break, Josh Todd took a touch at the edge of the box before firing a right foot shot just wide of the keepers left-hand post. In the closing minutes of the opening 45 Stephen Hendrie just cleared the crossbar as he turned to hit it on the volley and the keeper spilled Wilsons effort but recovered to collect as Kieran McKechnie closed in.
The final save of the first half was made by Dabrowski as he got a hand to stop Shanks from finding the net.
HALF TIME: QUEENS 0 PETERHEAD 0
After a goal-less first half, it took just 90 seconds of the second for Queens to take the lead. As Logan went down in the box following a challenge by Wilkie, Paton stepped up to fire the ball straight down the middle from the spot.
Minutes later, the forward tried to extend the lead with an overhead kick but could not direct it on target.
Then on the hour mark, Queens had a stronger claim for a penalty than the one they had had, as Paul McKay was pushed in the back inside the box, but this time referee Stewart Luke waved play on. The official did the same again a short time later as Paton also went down.
Midway through the half, Queens survived a Peterhead attack as Daniel Fosu caught out Euan East before playing it over the head of McKay as he tried to clear but Dabrowski saved.
As Queens tried to pile on the pressure, Connelly came off the bench to replace Murray and with his first touch of the ball, he turned inside the box and tried to hook the ball over the keeper.
Within a minute it was all square again as Jason Brown was unmarked to head past Dabrowski.
It was a setback for Queens, but they were not giving up and as Paton lined up a shot, Wilkie came out of nowhere to clear inside the box. Before Lewis Gibson played in a dangerous cross and McKenzie had to pull off a good save to turn out McKechnies header and Wilsons powerful volley was blocked.
A goal looked like it was coming, and it eventually did six minutes from time when the two substitutes, Gibson and Connelly combined. Lee side footing home Gibbos cut back.
In the final five minutes, Connelly had a low right foot shot from outside the box that flew wide and McKechnie fired over from outside the box. And in added on time, Paton broke but as he tried to play in Connelly it was cleared for a throw-in.
And with a clean sweep over Peterhead for the season the unbeaten run extends to five.
