With Jack Brydon suffering an ankle injury at Galabank last week, there was one enforced change to the side that faced Cove Rangers, with Cammy Logan taking the defenders place in the starting eleven.
The visitors enjoyed a lot of possession for the first twenty minutes or so, but they werent able to create much and were limited to the odd shot from distance. Connor Scully had a left foot shot from 20-yards, but it was straight at Gordon Botterill.
Midway through the first half, Queens had their first attempt at goal, Kieran McKechnie crossed from the left looking for Gavin Reilly in the middle of the box, but he couldnt connect as he tried to get his head on it.
Cammy Logan then did well down the wing to create an opening, before on the half hour mark, McKechnie again crossed from the left that reached Kyle Doherty on the right but as he played it back in for Reilly, the ball was cleared.
A minute later, McKechnie played in a corner that Efe Ambrose headed towards goal but again the visitors managed to clear.
At the other end Fraser Fyvie again tried from distance but Botterill got down low to collect.
Four minutes before the interval in a decent move forward, Reilly cut the ball across the face of goal but as Josh Todd slide in at the back post he failed to connect, and a great chance was gone.
And in the final minute of the first half, Doherty held the ball up well before playing the ball across for Todd, but Will Gillingham got his head on it first.

Five minutes after the interval Nicholas Suman made a terrific double save to keep his side level. His first came from Paul McKay who burst through into the box before hitting a right foot shot. As the ball rebounded to Doherty, his header was cleared off the line, before McKay headed the ball back down for Doherty to have a second attempt, but his powerful effort was saved by the keeper at the post, although the striker was claiming the ball had crossed the line.
Two minutes later, Kyle Connell hit the side netting as he tried to beat Botterill at the near post. Before McKechnie tried to curl one over the keeper but it was too high and over the bar.
Just before the hour mark, Queens were almost punished when the visitors pounced on a slack pass back by Daniel Church to Botterill, but Jordan Houston got back to clear off the line.
Midway through the second half, Cove introduced Rumarn Burrell off the bench and within a minute he forced a save from Botterill. As the ball spun to Paul McGowan, Houston was again on hand to head the ball off the line.
As Queens looked to make a breakthrough, Doherty passed to Reilly who took the ball on his chest, but he skied his volley.
Eight minutes from time, Cove took the lead in bizarre style. Church did well to block the first attempt but as the ball hit off his back it spun into the path off Burrell who fired the ball past Botterill from close range.
In the final minute of normal time, Lewis Gibson played a long ball for fellow sub Lee Connelly at the back post, he was unlucky with a tight curling shot that cracked off the post. Doherty pounced on the loose ball, but his effort was blocked for a corner.
And in added on time, Harvey Walker combined with Doherty to set up Todd but as he went for the header, the keeper nearly took his head as well as the ball. In the final attempt, Ambrose made a run but couldnt make it count.
