There were three changes to the starting eleven for the visit of Stirling Albion with Paul McKay, Efe Ambrose and Gordon Botterill all dropping to the bench, Craig McGuffie, Harry Stone, and Josh Todd took their places in the line-up.
Queens got off to the best possible start with a great ball forward from the back to Lee Connelly he did well to get a shot on target that Blair Currie saved. As the ball came back into play Alex Ferguson was on hand to slot a right foot shot into the net to give them a sixth minute lead.
Five minutes later Max Kilsby made space for himself on the left but fired the ball over the bar.
The home side were having the better chances and as they won a free-kick, McGuffies left foot effort was too high.
As they looked to extend the lead, Currie did well to block from Gavin Reilly and as Connelly pounced on the loose ball his shot was turned out for a corner.
Queens couldnt convert all the chances they had and midway through the half, Harry Cochrane failed to control the ball and as the ball was played forward, Josh McPake raced through the middle of Cammy Logan and Jack Brydon to round Stone to level.
Brydon who had taken a hefty whack on his ankle couldnt continue and had to be replaced by Ambrose with just under half an hour played.
Eight minutes before the break the visitors were awarded a controversial penalty. As Dale Carrick raced through, he collided with Stone and although the collision took place outside the box, referee Scott Lambie pointed to the spot. Carrick got up to take the kick himself, but Stone dived to his right and with strong hands pushed it out for a corner.
Albion were having a good spell and as Jack Leitch tried to cut it along the line, Max Kilsby cleared.
A minute later Cochrane gave away a silly free kick on the wing, McPake played it in, but Ross McGeachie headed over.

Four minutes into the second half, Ferguson went down in the box, but the ref never considered awarding a penalty.
Queens did regain the lead after 65 minutes when Cammy Logan crossed for Harvey Walker at the back post only for the ball to be cleared for a corner. As the ball was floated in Todd caught it perfectly on the volley to find the bottom corner.
After a string of substitutions and bookings, Queens had another chance when Walker showed some great play, holding off the challenge to get the ball across the face of goal.
Queens forced a sting of corners but failed to make them count. Joel Mumbongo was the closest to getting on the end of the ball but it was just too far ahead of him to connect.
And with a minute of the game left more controversy led to another goal. Carrick clearly fouled McKay in the middle of the park and as he flicked the ball on it was knocked out for a corner. Cochrane missed the header at the near post and as the ball fell close to the line, Logan and Carrick got involved in a scramble, it was the front man came out on top and managed to poke the ball past Stone.
