Queens kicked off their pre-season with a comfortable 4-0 win over local side Dalbeattie Star.

It was literally a game of two halves with Queens swappping all 11 players at half time and scoring 2 goals in each half while taking the opportunity to give the new summer signings and some of the U20s some game time.

The two first half golas were scored by Dale Hilson. The first, on 22 minutes, a looping header from a Brotherston cross and the second, on 35 minutes, a neat finish after retrieving a deep Anderson cross and turning back inside before firing past the keeper. Had it not been for the home keeper the scoreline could have been a lot worse for Dalbeattie.

The two second half goals were scored by Owen Moxon, on 49 minutes, with another header and Aiden Smith who finished the scoring, on 67 minutes, when he rounded the keeper after Lyndon Dykes slid a perfect ball through the defense into his path.
