It's been a winning day for Queens both on and off the park. Not only did we beat Raith Rovers to move closer to our play-off rivals Morton and Falkirk but Kyle Jacobs and Jordan Marshall have both signed contract extensions.
Midfielder Kyle has agreed another two year deal which keeps him at the Club until May 2019, while defender Jordan has signed on for a further year which takes him through to May 2018.
Manager Gary Naysmith says "It's really pleasing. We've still got a lot to play for this season but we're already planning for next year and I'm delighted to have secured these two players. They have been excellent since I arrived at the club and they both deserve a new deal. Ky's was straight forward but for different reasons, we had to work hard to get Jordan's deal over the line, not that he didn't want to be here it was just more complicated than Ky".
"For me Lewis Stevenson is the best full back in the league, but Jordan isn't far behind him. I believe he can play at a higher level and I hope that is with us, there are things that we need to take out of his game but if he keeps learning the way he has then I have no doubt that he has a big future in the game and if there is one position in a team that I can help a player improve then it's left back. Jordan is young and is every manager’s dream, he is low maintenance, you don’t have to worry about him, he gives his all at training every day, and he doesn't know the meaning of taking it easy. I'm pleased and everyone else should be pleased he's signed on. As for Ky, he just goes about his job quietly, he knows what he can and can't do".
"We are working our way through the squad and will be speaking to others over the coming weeks and months ahead".
