The Week Ahead

The first teams season may be over but there is still plenty of activity at Palmerston during the week ahead.

It starts with the first Breakfast Club of the week at Lochside on MONDAY (8th May).

With Walking Football on at the Arena for the over 50s from 10am.

Our £1 to Play session also takes place from five o’clock.

And Speedy will be holding his goal-keeping classes run by qualified SFA coaches for boys and girls aged 10 – 16.  The first season for an hour starts at quarter past five with the second session underway at Palmerston from half past six.

 

On TUESDAY (9th May), the Breakfast Club continues at Lochside Children’s Services from 8am. 

At 10am, the Community team are at the High School for the Dumfries & Galloway Employability Employment Tour.

And the Why Try programme which aims to help kids choose the right paths in life returns.  It will take place at St Josephs from twenty to two until half past three.  

In the evening, the Youth sides and Ladies team will be in for training.

 

On WEDNESDAY (10th May), the Breakfast Club continues from 8am.  That’s followed by a school visit by Amisfield from 1100 – 1215. 

The Wednesday Clubs for pre-school and primary school children continue. Pre-school kids are in from 1530 – 1615 with the primary school kids club taking place from 1600 – 1730.

 

On THURSDAY (11th May), Breakfast Club kick starts the day from 8am at Lochside Children’s Services.

The Community team then move onto school visits with Georgetown Primary at half past nine for an hour and Heathhall continuing their programme from three o’clock.

The youth sides and ladies teams are back in training ahead of their weekend games.

 

On FRIDAY (12th May), the final Breakfast Club of the week takes place at 8am.

The Community team are then at Lockerbie Primary assembly at half past nine for their World of Work Week.

And in the afternoon it’s the turn of the girls to have their chance to play football as the Community team hold the weekly Girls Club.

 

SATURDAY (13th May) is MATCH DAY for the Under 20s; they go head to head with DALBEATTIE STAR at Galabank, Annan in the final of the South of Scotland Challenge Cup.   Having won it the past two years they are aiming to make it a hat-trick of wins in the competition and hope to complete a league and cup double for this season.  The game kicks off at 3pm.

The girls teams are all away for their games, The Devils head to Threave, while the Rapids at Galloway and the Doonhamers travel to East Kilbride.

 

On SUNDAY (14th May); the under 13s are away to ST JOHNSTONE while the, under 15s and under 17s are both at home to STRANRAER.  The 15s kick off at 12 noon with the 17s game getting underway at 2pm.  Queens Ladies are also in action at home to United Glasgow in the League.

 

Throughout the week, the facilities within the Arena and KGV are available to book and don’t forget the Club shop and the Arena café are also open.

2nd June – The draw for the group stages of the Betfred Cup takes place.

23rd June – The league fixtures for season 2017/18 will be announced.

25th June – Derek Lyle’s Testimonial Match – Queens v Rangers Legends, 2pm at Palmerston.
