Weekend Preview

We get the second round of Championship fixtures underway this weekend when we head to Angus to play Brechin City.  Winning promotion from League One, Darren Dods side were our opponents on the opening day of the league season when we picked up the three points with a four - one win.  Derek Lyle scored a double with John Rankin and Lyndon Dykes adding the others.

Manager, Gary Naysmith gives his thoughts ahead of the trip to Glebe Park.

"Overall I was pleased with our performance against Dunfermline.  They are one of the highest scoring teams in the league and we restricted them to very few chances. Defensively we were strong and came away with another clean-sheet, our second in a row in the league. All we were missing last weekend was a goal and I felt it was a game we deserved to win.

I'm happy with the level of performance in our last two league games against Inverness and Dunfermline. we have shown that we can perform at a decent level and if we keep defending like we have in those two games then goals will come. You have to build from the back and make sure that we're not conceding. We have done that recently so we need to bring the clean sheets and scoring together.

We've had an okay start to the Championship campaign and are a little bit under in terms of points from where we wanted to be, but we will work hard and hope to make that up in the next round of fixtures.

The second quarter gets underway this weekend when we're away to Brechin City.

I'm expecting a different game from when we played them on the opening day of the league season. They played a different formation that day and had players suspended and they have shown in the past few weeks that they are getting better. It was always going to be a struggle for them, being part time and having the lowest budget in the division, but they are starting to get to grips with the league and We will treat them with the same respect as all the other teams in the league.

Saturday's game will probably come to quickly for Dan Carmichael and Chris Kane, so we will have the same squad as last week for the trip to Brechin.

Finally, it's always good to get feed-back when you're not in the pressured environment of match-day so it was a pleasure to spend some time with supporters at our open training session on Tuesday".
