Livingston Match Preview

Now into the second half of the season, we make our second visit to Livingston this weekend. On our last trip to West Lothian in September, the two sides shared four goals. In an exciting end to the game, Andy Stirling and Derek Lyle both scored to put us ahead after Danny Mullen's first half opener, before Dylan Mackin rescued a point for the home side with nine minutes to go.

It was a bit more of a convincing win for David Hopkin's side at Palmerston in November when they walked away with a three - nil win.

After winning promotion last season, they currently sit third in the Championship, three points ahead of us in the table.

Looking ahead to the game, Queens Manager Gary Naysmith said "The games are coming thick and fast just now. We stopped the run of conceding poor goals with a clean-sheet against Dumbarton on Tuesday which is pleasing. We just lacked a wee bit of cutting edge in the final third in that game but overall I felt a draw was probably a fair result.

This weekend we are back at Livingston, they have performed really well this season but I'm not surprised by that as I know just how hard their management team have worked. David (Hopkin) has assembled a strong squad and they're causing teams problems this season. Their style of play makes them a difficult side to play against but we just need to keep working hard like we have been and hopefully we can build on Tuesday's point.

Our incentive is that we know a win would pull us level on points so we need to make sure we do that and that the gap doesn't get bigger.

We are still without the long term injured players for this one, although they are making progress and of course Callum Tapping has moved on to Brechin City, but we will have Ross Fergusson back in the squad".

The game at the Tony Macaroni Arena kicks off at 3pm.
