Queens Safely Through to Betfred Last 16

Our players had the weekend off after their efforts of the last couple of weeks and had to sit back and wait for confirmation of progress in the Betfred Cup. For a while, with Clyde leading Motherwell at Broadwood, it looked like we might actually win Group G but Motherwell's three late goals put paid to that idea. However, qualification was still comfortably secured and we in fact end up as the best of the runners up in the rankings, edging out Dundee on goals scored.

The draw for the last sixteen takes places immediately after today's live BT Sport match between Hearts and Inverness CT at Tynecastle and we will be unseeded which means we will face one of:

Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hibernian, Dunfermline Athletic, Ayr United, St Johnstone and either Livingston or Inverness, depending on the result of today's match.

The other unseeded teams are: Ross County, Dundee, Motherwell, Kilmarnock, St Mirren. and two of Livingston, Hearts, Inverness and Partick Thistle, again depending on today's result.

If Inverness win the game outright or on penalties they will be seeded ahead of Livingston and Partick Thistle will take the last runner up spot in the next round.
If Inverness lose on penalties they will win their group but be unseeded so Livingston would take the final seeding slot and Partick Thistle would still qualify.
If Inverness lose in 90 minutes by three goals or less then Hearts will top the group but both they and Inverness will go through at the expense of Thistle.
If Inverness lose by more than three goals then Hearts will top the group and Partick Thistle will go through instead of Inverness.

The next round takes place on Saturday August 18th (unless our game is moved for tv).

Now that we have clinched our spot in the next round, why not clinch your own spot at Palmerston for the season and buy a season ticket for our Centenary? Tickets are still available from the Club Office 9am to 4pm weekdays. We are likely to be very busy on the day of the first League match against Dundee United so if you plan to buy a season ticket, please do not leave it until the day of the match.
