QoS 16's v Alloa Athletic 16's
In a tense affair at a sunny Palmerston, Queens deservedly took the lead with a thumping Kai Bell header from a corner kick but, after the team traded chances, were pegged back to 1-1 five minutes before the break from the penalty spot.

Alloa were reduced to ten men on the hour mark but it only seemed to spur the visitors on. Queens had to dig in despite their man advantage and had Charlie Cowie to thank for two or three really important saves. Late pressure from Queens though was unfortunate not to produce a winner with McKenzie going close on a couple of occasions.

In the end a draw was probably just about fair enough. There were good performances in particular from Bell and Lockerbie, and it was good to see two members of the u14 squad, Greg Brown and Johnny Emerson take their bow at this level.
