Girls Match Reports

Queens Girls U15s had an away league fixture against Glasgow City on Saturday. Queens lost an early goal but within 10 minutes were level when Ellie G scored from close range after the City keeper parried a shot. City took the lead again, but Lois equalised with a 25 yard free kick. Again City took the lead, but again Queens equalised with Maisie dancing past two defenders to score. City took the lead with a header from a corner and held on to win four - three, but a good performance from an improving Queens despite the narrow defeat.

Queens U15 Girls were back in action on Monday night in a cup semi-final against Hamilton Accies.  In an evenly balance game, Hamilton scored twice in the first half but early in the second half Lois scored with a powerful shot from 25 yards. Queens piled on the pressure and had Hamilton on the back foot but their physically imposing defenders held out.  Hamilton increased their lead and as Queens tried to push forward, Hamilton added to their tally. Full time: six - one to Hamilton and a deserved win for them, but the margin of victory perhaps didn't reflect what was a decent Queens performance.

Queens U13 Blues v St Cuthberts:  Queens played St Cuthberts at Terregles on Friday evening. In a very competitive and entertaining game, Queens finished on the losing side four - three.  Queens’ goals came from Shelby & Skye C. The girls were unlucky not to take anything from the game as they hit the woodwork four times.

Queens U11s were in action at the weekend with a friendly against a Terregles boys team. The girls played a passing game and playing as a team with lots of movement, they created loads of chances and benefited from the work done at training.

Queens U9 Girls competed in the Threave Fun Fours, against opposition from the west of the region.  Next Sunday, the girls travel to Hamilton for games against girls' teams from the central belt.
