Alloa Athletic Match Preview

After two games on the road we are back at Palmerston tomorrow as Alloa Athletic visit Dumfries.

Promoted from league one at the end of last season Jim Goodwin's side are still searching for their first win of the league campaign but have picked up two draws from their three games on the road so far.  Our last meeting in the Championship came back in 2015/16 season when we shared four goals.  We have played each other once since then, that came later the same year in November 2016 when Stephen Dobbie scored a double to earn us a win in the Irn Bru Cup.

Queens boss Gary Naysmith has been reflecting on our goal-less draw at Inverness last week and ahead to tomorrow's game.

"I felt in control of the game against Inverness and we created a couple of half chances but they finished each half better so a draw was probably a fair result. I would never turn down a point at Inverness, I would never set up to get a draw but I think a draw is a good point for us. We got back to doing what we had been doing last week and got a clean-sheet against a team that have been flying.

I like to try to get  consistency that's our fourth clean sheet in five in the league and it shows how hard the team are working.

We've played seven games now and we've got four clean sheets, if we can go through the season in that kind of form I will be delighted cause it's not often that the attacking players don't score.

Okay we haven't won in three but it's been two draws and a defeat and we've played Ross County, Partick and Inverness, three hard games.  Yes we would've liked to have got a few more points on the board but it wasn't to be and we will take the positives from it and build on it and try to beat Alloa on Saturday.

Alloa will be a different challenge again as we will be the team expected to break them down.  They are a hardworking side so we will have to be patient.  We will give them the respect they deserve but we are at home so we need to be looking to take three points.

We have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game so the squad will be along similar lines".
