Falkirk Match Preview

Our busy Championship schedule continues on tomorrow evening when we welcome Falkirk to Palmerston. With the current league positions its a crucial game for both sides. From the three games we have played so far, Queens hold the advantage by two wins to one.

Stephen Dobbie's hat-trick gave Queens a three - nil victory in August, which was followed up with a two - nil victory at Palmerston in October when Michael Doyle and Jordan Marshall were on target. Falkirk took the honours in the last meeting at the Falkirk Stadium in February.

Queens returned to winning ways with a tremendous, two - one victory over promotion chasing Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday.

Manager, Gary Naysmith has been reflecting on the win and looks ahead to the visit of Falkirk.

"The mood in the camp is obviously upbeat after Saturday's win at Dundee United. Not many teams go to Tannadice and get a positive result and the fact that they would have gone top had they beaten us shows just what a good result it was.

I was delighted for players. They have kept working hard, kept believing in what we are trying to do and they thoroughly deserved the victory they got. Jack was obviously outstanding for us but it was a collective performance and not one of the players could have given any more effort in helping us secure such a good victory.

Falkirk had a great result at Inverness at the weekend, keeping a clean sheet in the process, and they will really feel hard done by to have slipped a place in the table after such a good performance.

Our win on Saturday was great but we must use it as an opportunity to go on a positive run now. The players are more than capable of doing so. I was so pleased for our travelling fans too. You have kept belief as well as the players and I hope we can deliver for you again.

A few of the players were carrying knocks on Saturday but they wanted to play which shows their commitment. Nicky Low is getting closer but isn't quiet ready to return yet but Fraser Aird is available again after having to sit out the game against his parent club".

There will be parking restrictions around the stadium, therefore it is suggested that buses/minibuses drop off their passengers in Terregles St/King Street and thereafter park on College Mains road just off the roundabout with the A76 on the town bypass (adjacent to Curry's/PC World, as the other side at Aldi is the access road to the ambulance depot and is extremely busy). Pick up should be the same location.

Car parking is available in the Arena car park, alternatively there is plenty of other on & off street parking available around the stadium.

Supporters should note that there is an international ice hockey competition is being hosted at the ice bowl adjacent to the BDS stand. This necessitates the deployment of the tunnel. It may be that parking close to the ground is busy. Spectators should arrive in plenty of time to ensure that they find suitable parking & purchase their ticket and gain entry to the stadium for the kick off.

Turnstiles open for admission at 7pm.

There are no ongoing roadworks currently around Dumfries that may affect travel times to Palmerston Park. Fans should check the Traffic Scotland website at <http://trafficscotland.org/index.aspx> for confirmation of any delays.

There will be separate catering outlets throughout the stadium or the Arena café where a full menu is available will be open before kick-off. The bar under the Gates Stand will also be open for refreshments.
