We are pleased to announce that subject to international clearance we have signed Darren Lyon on a one year contract. The 24 year old midfielder has spent most of his career with Hamilton Accies but has most recently been down south with English League One side, Peterborough United.

Darren started his youth career at Rangers before moving to Hamilton as a 15 year old in 2010.  He came through their youth academy and made the step up to the first team in 2014, playing a number of games over four years in the Premiership for the New Douglas Park side.  After eight years he left to move down south in 2018.

Queens boss Allan Johnston said “Darren is a versatile midfielder but is also comfortable at right back. The fact that he can play in a variety of positions is important for us when it comes to running with a small squad.  Although he is still relatively young he has a lot of experience behind him.  He is full of energy and will complement the other players we already have at the club”.
