Match Preview v Inverness CT

The games are coming thick and fast for us this week. Hot on the heels of our trip to Alloa we welcome Inverness Caledonian Thistle to Palmerston tomorrow night as the Championship clubs have a midweek round of fixtures.

The two sides met in the Highlands in September when the home side claimed all three points thanks to two goals in the space of as many minutes from Sean Welsh and Tom Walsh during the first half. But Queens are unbeaten since and have picked up 8 points from 12 The hosts lost at Morton on Saturday so will be looking to bounce back – taking all that into account, hopefully it will be a cracker under the floodlights.

As he prepares the side for the game, manager Allan Johnston said “The game comes in what is a big week for us, sandwiched in between away games at Alloa and Dunfermline. On Saturday we were frustrated at dropping two points. The result was disappointing as we held a two goal lead and only come away with a draw, but it is still another point on the board at a tricky venue.

We are back scoring goals and it was two great finishes from Stephen and Jack. We have been defending well and did again on Saturday; we just switched off and conceded sloppy goals during a minute of madness. But the players deserve a lot of credit for the way they responded after losing the goals and were unlucky not to go on and win it.

We know the visit of Inverness will be another tough encounter but we have shown recently that we can compete with the best. We are still in a good run of form just now, so we hope to continue that against Inverness”.
