Match Preview v Dundee United

Tomorrow we make the trip to Tannadice to take on Championship leaders Dundee United.

After last weekend’s results, the host are starting to open up a wee gap at the top of the table but are without the division’s top goal-scorer, Lawrence Shankland who is in Cyprus with the National team.

Although we didn’t gain anything on the teams below, we go into the game in confident mood after our win over Ayr United on Saturday saw us close the gap on some of the teams above.  We also head to Tayside having already beaten the hosts 4 – 0 at Palmerston in our first meeting of the season last month.  We also have the knowledge that we won on our last visit to Tannadice when goals from Stephen Dobbie and Lyndon Dykes gave us a 2 – 1 win in March.

Manager Allan Johnston this week said “The game against Ayr last weekend was a massive game for everyone connected to the club.  Not only was it a big result it was a great performance, with all the players doing themselves proud.

After the game at East End Park, it was a great reaction from the boys and they have set the standard we are looking for. When we play like that we are exciting to watch, we have a hard run of games to come but that was a good way to start it.

There are no easy games in this league and when you are playing the league leaders it’s always going to be tough.  But we have shown what we are capable of doing.  We are starting to make Palmerston the difficult place to visit, so we want to kick on to the next level and start producing the same level of performances away from home.

In order to do that we need to be at it for the full game, we need to make sure we are fully focused and pass the ball well like we did last weekend”.

Ticket prices for the game are advertised on the Dundee United website at £24 - £26 for adults and £12 or £13 for concessions.

The match has a 3pm kick off.
