We have this morning agreed to let Darren Brownlie join Patrick Thistle for an undisclosed fee. The defender had already signed a pre-contract with Ian McCall's side and was due to make the move to Firhill at the end of the season.  But following discussions we have now come to an agreement that is acceptable to us and have allowed him to make the switch before the end of the transfer window.

Darren had established himself as a regular center half and has made over 150 appearances for us since joining in the summer of 2015.  It would have been more but he spent a long time sidelined due to a serious knee injury.

Manager Allan Johnston said “I am disappointed at losing our vice captain and another player from our squad but Darren moving on to Thistle now is probably the right move for both him and us.  We will continue to look for players to strengthen our squad as we push for the playoffs”.
