Match Preview v Dundee

After two weeks on the road we have a home game in the Championship tomorrow as we welcome Dundee to Palmerston.  The visitors who were knocked out of the play-off places last week but sit a point outside the top four with a game in hand.

We have played each other twice this season so far.  Our first meeting at Palmerston in September in front of the TV cameras ended in a one all draw.  Jack Hamilton opened the scoring after just six minutes with Jordan McGhee pulling the visitors level five minutes later.

It was a more dramatic end to our last meeting in Dundee in November.  Stephen Dobbie scored a double for us in a 2 – 1 win, but his winner came in the 93rd minute after Danny Johnston thought he had earned a share of the points with a late equaliser a minute earlier.

Looking ahead to this weekends game, Manager Allan Johnston said It goes without say that our results since the turn of the year have been disappointing and we all know that we need to get back on track quickly.

We played in difficult conditions the past two weeks at Morton and Arbroath but the weather is no excuse for the way we played at Gayfield. We were outfought and lost the battle and contributed to our own downfall through our own level of performance. The players are well aware that it was nowhere good enough.

It is tough times at the moment but in order to propel ourselves up the league we need to pull together to get through it. We have had some decent performances and have shown we can play against the teams at the top of the table so we just need to return to that level more consistently.

Dundee have their own ambitions of making the top four and after dropping out of the play off places last week will want to get the win so they will make it difficult for us but we need to focus on ourselves, every game between now and the end of the season is a cup final as we want to start winning games to get ourselves up the table”.
