Following our return to training today, Manager Allan Johnston has added Ally Roy to the squad. The 24-year-old striker who is the Gaffer’s fifth signing in the past 24 hours joins from Airdrie.
As a youth Ally played for Stirling Albion before moving to Hearts. He went on to have spells in Ireland before returning to Scotland with Partick Thistle and then moving back to his home club where he was a regular in their push for promotion.
The forward has also been capped at Under 21 level with Northern Ireland.
Speaking of the signing, AJ said “We have watched Airdrie a few times and Ally caught our eye. He is a player with potential and scored against us in our friendly match last season. He has had spells in Ireland and at 24 he comes with a bit of experience behind him so we are expecting him to kick on from his performance last year and become a key part of the squad”.
