Joining today on a two year deal is 19 year old defender Udoka Chima. Centre back Udoka has reported attracted attention from Benfica and Braga and has recently been on trial with Coventry City and Newcastle United following his departure from Burnley.
After spending two years playing grassroots football in the North of London, the Italian born Englishman with Nigerian heritage moved into academy football and had spells with Norwich and Luton before ending up at Turf Moor.
Manager Allan Johnston said “Udoka has been on trial with us for the last 10 days or so and has shown us that he is a strong tall centre back. Although young he has spent time with some big clubs in England and his experience at youth football will have set him up for the challenge. We have been short of defenders so I’m delighted to have added his strength to the squad and look forward to working with him”.
Subject to international clearance being received in time Udoka will be available to face Partick Thistle on Saturday. He will wear squad number 4.
