Welcome - Efe Ambrose

We have today signed Efe Ambrose on a short-term deal. The 34-year-old who was a free agent after leaving Morton joins the squad until the end of the year.

The Nigerian defender has a wealth of experience having played the game in various parts of the world. He moved to Scotland in 2012 to sign for Celtic where he made over 100 appearances in his five-year spell. Moving to Hibs on loan before a permanent deal saw him spend two years at Easter Road where again he played almost a further 100 games at the top level.

On signing Efe said “I’m happy to be joining Marvin at Queens and to get back amongst a squad. When I got the call, I jumped at the chance to sign. I’m looking forward to joining the rest of the boys and hopefully my experience and knowledge will add value to the team.”

Marvin added “With the injuries and suspensions we have just now we needed to add to the squad and I’m grateful Efe has joined on a short deal. He is someone I have known for a long time so I know what he brings and what we will get. We have a lot of talented young players, but we are currently short of senior heads. Efe will give us that experience. He is also a great character to have around the dressing room.”

Efe has been allocated the number 24 jersey and goes straight into the squad for tonight’s visit of East Fife in the League cup, subject to clearance from the SFA.
