We can confirm that as a result of Gordon Botterill's current suspension and uncertainty about when Murray Johnson will be able to return to us from Hibernian, and with the transfer window closing tomorrow, we have today cancelled Charlie Cowie's loan at Gretna 2008 for the time being and recalled him fully into our first team squad. We thank Gretna 2008 for their understanding and co-operation.

Charlie joined Gretna on loan on 12th July but managed only a handful of appearances before Murray Johnson's illness prior to the Queen's Park game necessitated his emergency recall. He has remained here since on a succession of 7 day recalls due to Hibernian's own goalkeeper issues meaning Murray Johnson has been recalled back there.

To avoid any complications with potential further 'emergency' loans and in case we need to use another this weekend the decision has been taken to cancel Charlie's loan for now. He is likely to go back out on loan in a few weeks with the aim of playing regular football again.
