Match Preview v Stenhousemuir - 26th April 25

Apr 25 2025 15:00

We are back at Palmerston tomorrow for a crucial fixture against Stenhousemuir. It’s our final home game in the scheduled league fixtures, but we go into the match knowing that a victory would secure us a top four finish and extend our season with extra games in the promotion play-offs, so come along and support the team.

It’s all square when it comes to results so far this season, the opening game between us in September ended in a goal-less draw at Ochilview, while in our last game there, the home side claimed the win as Blair Alston and Corey Donaldson scored in the opening half hour to help them to a 2-1 win. Brennan Dickenson scored our goal that day in the 90th minute. While we took the three points with the same scoreline on their last visit to Dumfries back in December. Reece Lyon and Adam Brooks gave us the advantage before Donaldson pulled one back.

Ahead of the game tomorrow, Manager Peter Murphy said “It’s our final home match of the season in the scheduled fixtures, but hopefully we can extend that a bit longer.

We are on a great run just now, with four consecutive wins and unbeaten in six. That consistency has taken us into third and we are very close but we haven’t achieved anything yet so we need to keep it going.

The performances in recent weeks have been excellent and some of the goals we have scored are fantastic, the players deserve real credit. Last week at Kelty, they showed great character to come back from an early set back to win the game comfortably. A testament to the way the players have worked for each other.

Tomorrow, we face a side who like ourselves are battling for the playoffs. Although they’ve had a dip in results recently, they have deservedly been in the top four for much of the season so we know what to expect. Gary will have them fired up so we need to remain focused.

On behalf of the staff and players I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support. There have been tough times throughout the campaign but by sticking together we can hopefully continue the run and achieve what we set out to do.”

For safety reasons, QOS have adopted a robust and thorough search policy for spectators entering the ground to ensure that ground rules and regulations are strictly adhered to, especially in relation to pyrotechnic devices and controlled containers. We would like to remind supporters that letting off smoke devices is a criminal offence, and anyone found doing so will be referred to Police Scotland. Not only is it against the law, it is also extremely dangerous and a health hazard to other spectators. All bags will be searched and spectators presenting themselves for entry may also be subject to search. Spectators who refuse to be searched by stewards will be denied entry to the ground.

Palmerston Park is a non-smoking venue; this includes e cigarettes and other such devices. Stewards are empowered to eject spectators who disobey these rules. No persons will be admitted to the ground who are deemed to be under the influence of alcohol.

The Scottish Football league have asked us to remind supporters that it is strictly prohibited to enter the field of play and that it would be considered Unacceptable Conduct under SPFL Rules and such actions may also result in disciplinary consequences for the Club.

The club shop located in the Arena will be open until kick off where you can purchase our club merchandise. Including half-time draw tickets and match day programmes.

Tomorrow’s match kicks off at 3 pm.
