There were two changes to the starting line up for the trip to Stirling Albion. With Harry Cochrane out with a knee injury he picked up against Edinburgh City, Josh Todd took his place in the middle of the park and Jordan Houston replaced Cammy Logan who dropped to the bench.
In very wet and windy conditions the home side had the wind at their backs for the first half and with five minutes on the clock a free kick was headed on by Paul McLean for Dale Carrick but the forward bundled Harry Stone into the net along with the ball and Gavin Duncan quickly blew his whistle for the foul.
Battling against the conditions, Alex Ferguson tried a shot, but he was well wide of the target. A minute later Lee Connelly picked up the ball on his right foot before twisting to switch it on to his left, as he aimed for the top corner, Blair Currie pulled off a good save to turn it out for a corner.
On the right side, Lewis Gibson won a free kick but his delivery into the box was too strong for anyone to connect. And as the home side used the wind former Queens striker, Dale Hilson hit a shot from 30 yards that Stone tipped over the bar.
Aaron Dunsmore then tried his luck from distance but just cleared the bar with a right foot effort.
Midway through the first half the Binos did open the scoring, Hilson played a pass for Lewis Milne and as his run wasnt matched, his cross found Carrick who slotted the ball past Stone.
On the half hour mark, Connelly pounced on a loose ball and raced forward to force a save from Currie. Then six minutes later the game was stopped as Houston picked up a knee injury, he received treatment from both sides physios, but had to leave the field on a stretcher.
With the game back underway, Ferguson had a shot deflected for a corner, but it didnt come to anything, and Queens trailed at the break.
HALF TIME: Stirling Albion 1 Queens 0
Within two minutes of the restart, Hilson was in again, but this time Stone did well to block with his feet.
Queens then took a grip of the game and Gavin Reillys shot from the edge of the box was turned out for a corner, but Gibbo couldnt cause a problem with the delivery.
Three minutes later they secured another set piece when Reilly played the ball back to Paul McKay and his shot from the edge of the box was cleared by Kyle Banner. This time Gibson got the ball into the area for Kyle McClelland to head wide.
It was all Queens for now and Gibson delivered a free kick into the middle for Reilly, but the front man couldnt get enough on it to direct his header towards goal. And from a Connelly corner, Efe Ambrose headed too high.
With an hour on the clock, Josh Copper dragged a low shot wide, but it was still Queens on top and Todds toe poke won another corner.
As Queens looked for an equaliser, Gibson took a free kick, with the centre of goal in line, he aimed for the left, but it was straight down the middle and Currie collected easy.
However, with fifteen minutes remaining they eventually found a breakthrough. Logan who had replaced the injured Houston earlier in the game did well on the wing and his delivery into the box was cleared for a corner. As Gibson played it into the area, it was knocked on to McKay inside the six-yard box to head into the net in slow motion.
Back on level terms they pushed for a winner and substitute, Kyle Doherty struck from distance but as the ball headed out the exit sign he had to settle for a corner.
The second half had pretty much been all Queens but with five minutes of the game left, Stone pulled off a terrific save to deny McLean.
And with the last chance Craig McGuffie hit a free kick from the edge of the 18-yard line just wide of the upright.
