There were two changes to the side that started at Kelty Hearts, Lewis Gibson was unavailable due to injury and Ben Johnstone dropped to the bench with Kieran McKechnie and Gavin Reilly taking their place in the starting line-up.
Kyle Gourlay was called into action in the first minute, when McKechnie caught the ball on the volley from a throw-in and the keeper had to get down low to stop it at the bottom corner.
The visitors had the brighter start but hadnt made it count in the final third. And as the home side made an attempt on goal, Joseph McGlynns left foot shot was deflected for a corner.
Queens were still the team that were creating and midway through the half, in another good move, Lee Connelly laid the ball off to McKechnie, but his right foot shot was way too high. They continued to have the better chances and as Connelly pinged a great ball out to McKechnie on the wing, Reilly couldnt control at the first attempt but as the ball came back to him, he held off a challenge inside the box and did well to get the shot away but it hit the base of the post and came back out.
A minute later, as the defender slipped inside the box, McKechnie crossed for Connelly who hit a great right foot shot from the left that was stopped when Gourlay made a brilliant save to turn it away for a corner. Connelly himself floated it back into the six-yard box but Paul McKays header was off target.
On the half hour mark, Alfie Bavidge made his wall to the by-line and opened up a chance for Craig Johnston, but Gordon Botterill blocked.
And with five minutes of the first half remaining, Cammy Logan charged down the wing and unleashed a left foot shot that was heading for the bottom corner but again Gourlay managed to get his hand to it to turn it away.
HALF TIME: Kelty Hearts 0 Queens 0
Seven minutes into the second half, McKechnie tried to find the top corner at the near post, but it curled and ended up the wrong side of the upright.
Queens still looked strongest, and Connelly tried to make something happen from the right, but the keeper collected. Connelly then played it to Kyle Doherty who turned to lay it back to McKechnie, but the ball was cleared before he could shoot.
Then with just over an hour gone, Joel Mumbongo made his debut and instantly won an ariel challenge to set up Reilly, but the ball was again cleared.
Kelty were finding the strength of Mumbongo to deal with and as the ball came over the top, he controlled it well before turning to fire across goal and for the second time, Queens were denied by the base of the post.
In the closing stages, Mumbongo again did well in the air, but he couldnt get in at the end.
It was a game where Queens created the better chances but couldnt find the net and had to settle for a share of the points.
