The second of back-to-back games at Palmerston saw the visit of Alloa, under the floodlights and in front of the TV cameras. For the first time this season, Manager, Peter Murphy had a full squad to pick from but stuck with the same side that started against Montrose the week before.
The home side made a fast start to the game and within two minutes created an opportunity. Brennan Dickenson moved down the right channel before crossing into the box for Reece Lyon, only for his effort to be knocked out for a corner.
Lyon again came close with a header after great play by Pharrell Willis. The frontman played it out to Kai Kennedy who floated it into the six-yard box that was met by Lyon. His header was on target but tipped onto the roof of the net by Peter Morrison.
Two minutes later, Queens suffered a set back when Dickenson went down with a hamstring injury, and they were forced to make a change after just fifteen minutes. The game had barely restarted when Willis suffered a similar injury and too had to be replaced.
Midway through the half, Ross Stewart got down to save a low right foot drive to keep his side level.
As the game flowed from end to end, substitute Leighton McIntosh had a right foot shot deflected and on the hour mark, the same player set up a chance for fellow sub, Kieran McKechnie who fired just over the bar.
It was the visitors who then had a couple of chances through Luke Donnelly, his first shot was turned out for a corner with Stewart collecting the big strikers header five minutes later.
In the closing minute of the first half, Harry Cochrane played a short free kick to Lyon who returned the ball to the midfielder so he could deliver into the box, but it came to nothing.
And in added on time, Kennedy was the third Queens player to go down with a hamstring injury.

With Kennedy out, Lewis ODonnell came on for the second half, but it was Cochrane who had the first opportunity after the break, but he shot wide.
As the cross was played in at the other end, Donnelly also headed his effort wide.
Eight minutes in, the visitors took a controversial lead. Lyon was fouled but it wasnt given and Alloa made the break, as Queens raced to get back, Steven Buchanan had two players up in support and as the cross came in Luke Rankin slotted it into the net.
Queens battled and McIntosh hit a shot low from 30-yards, but Morrison collected.
Just before the hour mark, Josh Walker came off the bench for Jack Brydon and within 30 seconds, he found the net. Oscar MacIntyre made a great run down the left before cutting it back for Walker, who turned to hit the ball over the keeper into the top corner with his first touch of the game.
It sparked real life into the game and four minutes later a long ball forward was brought down by McKechnie. Walker and McIntosh had both made the run to offer him options, but he took the shot himself only for it to be pushed over by Morrison.
Queens thought they had taken the lead midway through the half when McIntoshs header was on target, but somehow the keeper managed to get a touch on it to stop it from crossing the line.
Both sides offered up an entertaining final half hour and both had chances to win it in the closing stages. For Queens, Lyon crossed for Hewitt who headed it back in, but the visitors cleared and then ODonnell didnt spot the keeper off his line. Before Tyrece McDonnell blasted over with the final kick of the game.
