The games are coming thick and fast this week and after a tricky Scottish Cup tie at the weekend it was back home again for a re-arranged league game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Manager, Peter Murphy made one change from the side that started against St Mirren. Harry Cochrane regained his place in the side ahead of Jack Brydon who dropped to the bench.
It was the visitors who made the better start to the game and as Benjamin Luissint missed the ball, Billy McKay was given the space to have a shot, but Ross Stewart got down to collect.
Three minutes later, Kyle Doherty won the ball in his own half before finding Brennan Dickenson. The striker played the ball out to Adam Brooks on the right but as he ran towards goal his right foot effort was straight at Musa Didaga.
The visitors opened the scoring ten minutes in when a simple ball was played through the middle and McKay was left to play it out wide to Alfie Stewart. As he crossed it into the box Alfie Bavidge was there to slot into the bottom corner.
However, the lead lasted all of ninety seconds as Queens hit back through Brooks. The lively forward raced in from the right-hand side to hit the ball low into the opposite corner of the net.
Up for the challenge against his former club, Brooks twisted to make space before firing the ball over the bar. It was an entertaining game of football that moved from end to end and as the visitors threatened, Bavidge played a dangerous ball across the box, just out of reach of McKay.
Back at the other end Brooks had a shot blocked by Remi Savage but they kept up the pressure and as Dickenson set up another chance, Brooks took a touch but cleared the bar.
Jack Hannah then made a great challenge to clear for a corner. And with half an hour on the clock, Luissint beat a couple of defenders to make an opening, but his final shot was wide of the target.
Ten minutes before the break, Oscar MacIntyre went on a run but as he had the ball taken off him on the touchline, a cross from the left was missed by McKay.
The game was pulsating, and Dickenson got on the end of a long ball to win a corner, as it was played into the six-yard box, Matty Douglas smashed a right foot shot towards goal, but the keeper did well to block.
Five minutes before the break, the visiting defence stood united to block again from Brooks.

Less than a minute into the second half, Dohertys free kick was headed towards goal by Douglas, but it was an easy take for the keeper.
As the game continued to swing from box to box, Hannah did well to block at one end while, Macintyres cross was stopped at the other.
Queens did make the breakthrough eight minutes after the restart when Dickenson did well before Cochrane dug in to get the ball to Brooks. He took the ball on his chest before making a bit of space and smashing it past Didaga for his and Queens second of the night.
The home side looked to kill off the game, but Doherty was off target with his effort and as Reece Lyon got forward his cross was cleared.
On the hour mark, Dickenson hit the side netting with a shot before he stayed onside to collect a pass from Cochrane but dragged his effort wide.
Midway through the half, more great play by Cochrane allowed Dickenson to cross but the ball was just too far ahead of Brooks for him to connect.
And with fifteen minutes remaining, the Caley Jags were back level. A free kick into the box was headed towards goal, Stewart got behind it and parried it away, but Keith Bray pounced to bundle the ball into the net. Queens felt there was a foul on Douglas and Dickenson found his way into referee Gavin Duncans book for protesting.
As the clock ticked down, Mikey Hewitt delivered to the front post and as Dickenson and Brydon both attacked it, they won a corner. Nothing came of that but a short time later, Dickenson on the left made a run and unselfishly laid the ball to his right where Jordan Allan had made the run. Only on the field for a few minutes, the Falkirk loanee fired home to restore the advantage.
He could have had a second in stoppage time after another terrific run by Dickenson, but he couldnt connect and as the ball fell to Hewitt his shot hit the keeper.
