New Striker Checks In

It's been a busy day on the contract front despite manager Gavin Skelton currently being on holiday. Never the less he has managed to confirm the signing of a new striker to add to the young players who were confirmed earlier in the day.

Steven Rigg will be 24 next month and joins us following his release from Carlisle United. The 6'1 forward or attacking midfielder hails from Keswick and scored 64 goals in 85 games for Penrith before signing for Carlisle in the summer of 2014. He featured regularly in the first team in his first season but suffered an ankle injury whilst on loan to Barrow last season and missed a couple of months. Never the less he has over 30 appearances for Carlisle under his belt, scoring 6 times. Gavin was delighted to get his man after trying to sign him for Workington before he joined Carlisle.

Steven was at Palmerston for a medical with Ross Goodwin this afternoon and met with Jim Thomson and Ewan Lithgow to seal the deal. He will complete the formalities of the move when his contract at Carlisle ends next month.
