After a slight delay while education issues were sorted out we are happy to now introduce another young member of our Reserve Team squad for 2020/21. Goalkeeper Charlie Cowie has been with Queen of the South for over 5 years already despite only turning 16 six months ago. He has come through all age groups of our Club Academy programme since joining from Greystone Rovers

Manager Wullie Gibson had this to say, "I was made aware of Charlie's potential when I returned to the club but he was still only 15 at that time and not old enough to play for the Reserves in official matches. We had him in for a few training sessions though and liked what we saw. His previous coaches speak very highly of him and he's been working with the first team in pre-season too, getting 15 minutes or so against Threave last week. He's obviously still very young but has lots of potential. I'll be looking for him to establish himself in the Reserves this season when opportunities arise.

Charlie is still at school and his education is very important so we've been working with his school to sort out a way to make his commitments work. We thank everyone involved for their assistance."
